!!CHARACTER NAME HERE!!
Name: James Wong
Country: Hong Kong
Gender: Male
House cat/street cat: House cat
Appearance:
James is a Siamese cat, with the typical coffee brown face and paws and cream coat. Most of his tail is also covered in short cream coloured fur, except for the tip, which is brown as well. His eyes are amber, unlike most other Siamese cats. Right above his eyes though, are darker patches of fur, rather like thick eyebrows.
Personality:
James, on the exterior, is aloof and distant. He doesn’t talk much, and even if he does so, it’s in short sentences or in monosyllabic replies. He usually just does his own thing in his little corner and chooses not to bother others, unless there seems to be a great opportunity to do so. However, get him annoyed and you will be face to face with him mocking and insulting you. He has a sharp tongue and can be rather blunt when annoyed, and will not hesitate to tell his own opinions of you. But most of the time, he usually keeps his annoyance to himself, choosing only to speak with sarcasm when needed. He also usually shuns those who do things he dislikes, but can be vicious as well. He could pretend to be very nice to you, even though you annoy him but once you turn your back he will probably do something that would make you regret ever annoying him in the first place. However, he can be nice to those whom he does not mind, if there is some benefit in store for him, being a somewhat calculative person. Despite all of this, he can be considered mature in his thinking, and is a very rational thinker. He is not rash at all, choosing to think twice before he does anything. Even in the heat of the moment, where he is supposed to make important decisions quickly, he’ll think through about his option before deciding to use it.
Inside though, he is still pretty young at heart, and quite likes playing around, though in his own little corner. He also refrains from physical contact most of the time, and doesn’t like people touching him unless he likes them enough to let them do so. James can be a fast learner, and picks new things up fast, when motivated. Most of the time though, he is unmotivated and doesn’t bother much about things. When told off, he can be slightly stubborn and apologises for his behaviour rather begrudgingly and you know he is most probably going to do whatever he did wrong again. He does know when to respect his elders though.
Likes:
He likes having his alone time, his little own private space where he can do what he wants without being restricted by anything. He loves having his own personal space and doesn’t really like it when people intrude in it. Despite this, James does enjoy attention from time to time, or else he'd go around searching for a bit of it, typcially in the form of pranks.
Also, he likes to sometimes pull pranks on other people, if he is feeling that bored. Giving people a shock pleases him secretly.
James also enjoys watching fireworks, since he can't exactly set them off as a cat. He doesn't mind the loud sounds firecrackers make either, since he quite likes the explosions.
He also enjoys good food, and it arriving on time. Especially it arriving on time. He can be rather precise about mealtimes, really.
Dislikes:
Probably the most annoying thing to ever happen, and the thing he hates most, would be being disturbed. He absolutely hates getting his own personal space invaded by someone else, no matter what their intentions are. He doesn’t snap at them though, preferring to use sarcasm to get back at them.
He also dislikes being forced to do things, because sometimes, he just simply does not want to do them and does not see a point in doing what he is asked to do. Unless it has a good reason, he will probably do what others ask of him grudgingly and with a lot of complaints, or else not do it at all until annoyed enough to do so.
James dislikes things arriving late. Probably because he is sometimes rather used to things arriving on time that he finds it annoying that they are late. He also doesn't really like sharing his food, though he does know it is a little selfish of him. Another thing he dislkes would be water, and he doesn't like being wet at all. He usually turns and runs once he sees water anywhere.
History:
James is a pretty young siamese cat, and is somewhere close to being an adult cat soon. He is rather close to his owner and his family, who have looked after him since he was a newborn kitten when they first took him into their household. He doesn't really remember the litter he was born in, or his mother, since he was taken away rather early.
They moved into the town rather recently from another faraway city, and so he is rather new to the town in general, as well as the people living there other than the people living in his new home. He does go out of the house to explore the town from time to time, but he hasn't made any friends in the town as of yet. Though he does hope to somehow get to know some other cats over the course of his stay here, since he seems to already have spotted a few on his arrival.
Roleplay sample:
Hong Kong looked up at the night sky. The sky was clear today, and he could see the moon, although it was nothing but a pale crescent in the sky looking back down at him. The stars twinkled in their own constellations, and it was a very beautiful sight. A hand absentmindedly fingered the fuse of the firework, feeling the rough rope and yes, tonight would be an excellent night to experiment with these new fireworks. He looked at the small box he had brought with him, and wondered how long it would take for him to finish all these. Should he save some for another time? He stood on the hill pondering, and let the breeze blow about him, gently sweeping his hair over his face. He made a face as his hair was messed a little and brushed his fringe aside, blinking as some strands were caught in his eye. He decided to think about that later, after he tried lighting the first one. If they were good, he’d save some. If they weren’t that good, he would use them all up tonight.
He reached into his pocket for his lighter. His pants pocket was pretty tight, with his cell phone taking up quite a lot of space. He took that out and placed it on the grass, making a note to remember to take it when he left. He found his lighter deep in the pocket, and took it out. Upon examining the clear liquid through the transparent plastic container, he discovered that it was running out of fuel and he made another mental note to find another one, or to purchase another one from one of those convenience stores. He would like to have used matches, but a lighter just seemed a lot more convenient in this day and age. And he wouldn’t have to waste time looking for those used matches to throw, or throw away the matches that failed or just plain refused to light up. This lighter was one of those you just pressed and the flame just came on, rather useful for situations where he needed to quickly light a firecracker and toss it and run away before he was caught.
He placed the firework at an angle facing the sky. A good angle, so it would fly far and high. He would give those people living down the hill he was at a pleasant surprise, though the objective of this activity was mainly to entertain himself. Lighting the fuse, he watched as the fuse started to burn, little harmless sparks falling on the grass. It burned steadily to the end and he watched, standing at a safe distance, as the firework was launched and flew off into the night sky with a whistling sound. It exploded with a rather loud bang and red, orange and yellow sparks flew and formed a giant flower on the dark night sky. Yes, these fireworks were pretty good. He’d keep half for later use, maybe for special occasions. But for now... He picked up two more and lighted them, sending them off. He sat on the hill, watching them explode and lighting up the night sky, with the hints of a smile on his usually emotionless face as he watched.
A few more fireworks later and the hill was getting rather smoky thanks to the fireworks. He had about close to half of the box left, and was holding another one, ready to light it until he noticed a little flashing light in the grass and a familiar tune playing. He placed the firework back into the box and quickly grabbed his cell phone, whose screen was flashing and the music was getting louder and louder. He frowned slightly in annoyance, his thick eyebrows furrowed together. It was an alarm set by himself, to make sure he got home on time. It looked like he couldn’t play with his fireworks anymore, at least, not tonight. Unless he wanted people to get worried about him, which was something he couldn’t stand, all the fuss over him. He sighed and stuffed the lighter into his pocket, followed by his cell phone and quickly packed up the remaining fireworks and looked at the slightly cloudy and smoky sky before walking down the hill to get back home.
